Jona

Jona rose to stardom after she was declared the first grand champion of GMA 7’s Pinoy Pop Superstar. Known for her pleasing belting out of high notes and great voice control, the Albay-born singer has received numerous accolades — including tilts from Awit Awards and PMPC Star Awards for Music — lauding her singing chops.

For a decade since her victorious finish in Pinoy Pop Superstar, Jona was an exclusive recording artist for GMA Records. During that time, she has gathered a massive following either as a solo act or as the lead singer of the now-defunct all-girl trio, La Diva. She recently transferred to ABS-CBN and changed her stage name from Jonalyn Viray to simply Jona.

Some of her first projects under the new management were her remakes of the hits “I Will Survive” and “I’ll Never Love This Way Again.” She is also a current mainstay of ASAP, the station’s Sunday noontime show, where she is part of the segment, “Birit Queens,” alongside Angeline Quinto, Morissette and Klarisse De Guzman.
