The numerous amateur singing contests Klarisse De Guzman has participated in served as her training ground. Once in her teenage years, she has also competed with pop star Sarah Geronimo, who later became her coach when she joined the first season of The Voice Philippines. Tagged as the soul diva of their batch, she finished second in the said television program.

The diva-in-the-making released her self-titled debut album under MCA Music. Apart from the pieces she sang in The Voice, the album also features songs composed by Toto Sorioso (“Magpakailanman”) and Arnee Mendaros (“Sayang Naman”).

Her debut single, “Di Kayang Pilitin,” which she wrote herself, reflects her aspiration in music – to sings tracks that have “more soul” and “less birit.”
