Mitoy Yonting

Mitoy Yonting is the first grand champion of The Voice Philippines. Coached by Broadway star Lea Salonga, he braved to take a giant step in his music career as he showed unparalleled dedication to prove he is the country’s next big icon performance after performance during the show.

After emerging victorious in The Voice, he got signed by MCA Music and released a debut album called “Hanggang Wakas.” In the album, Mitoy lent his powerful voice to render original hits and remakes such as Florante’s “Handog.”

Mitoy, born and raised in the province of Pangasinan, discovered his love for music at the early age of 13. He would often listen to radios and make his own singing routines. After frequenting in local competitions, he was discovered when he won in the televised singing competition “Ikaw at Echo,” an Eat Bulaga segment back in 1990s. He also formed a band with his brother in 1997 and has played gigs all over the country.
