Prince of Ballad and award-winning concert performer Gerald Santos is slated to reveal something new in his career through a major solo show at the SM North EDSA Skydome in Quezon City this April 9, Sunday, 7PM.
Aptly titled “Something New In My Life,” the event will showcase Gerald’s new leaning as an artist — musical theater. Though he will be rendering classic pieces from major musical productions, he said that his repertoire will be an interesting mix of different genres that will highlight his diversity as a singer.
“The concert is for all ages — may pop songs, ballads and songs from musical theater,” the balladeer, who is also the voice behind the Wish 107.5 jingle, shared in a WISHclusive interview last April 3.
Gerald also remarked that his upcoming show will be his most challenging concert yet.
“Every time I’m having a concert, I make sure that there’s a challenge always. This concert, mas madami siyang challenges kasi medyo breathtaking yung mga songs na kakantahin ko for my fans.”
His sixth major solo concert also serves as wish-come-true for the 25-year-old OPM royalty as he will be having Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid for the first time. He and the Asia’s Songbird first met during the TV singing competition, Pinoy Pop Superstar, where he emerged as the second season’s grand winner.
Apart from the OPM icon, Gerald’s concert will also feature premier vocal ensemble, UP Concert Chorus.
Prior to his show, he dished out some iconic theater songs during his Roadshow guesting on board the Wish 107.5 Bus. His set list included some of his favorites such as “What I Did For Love,” “Proud of Your Boy,” and “Why God, Why.”
