From Joviena With Love

“Naisipan ko na mag-wish para sa magulang ko noong araw na iyon.”

(That day, I decided to make a wish for my parents.)

29-year old Joviena Abrigo-Mangay-ayam recounts how during one typical day at work, she was given the chance to make a wish for her beloved parents.

While taking a break from her job in a gas company in San Nicolas, Pangasinan, she casually browsed her Facebook account. She read an advertisement on her feed, asking, “Anong Wish Mo?” (What’s Your Wish?)

With no second thoughts, she immediately typed in her wish; a wish she made for her loved ones.

“Hiniling ko na sana mabigyan ng puhunan ang magulang ko pambili ng alagang baka para hindi na nag-aalaga ang papa ko ng baka ng ibang tao. At sana mapa-check up ang mata ng mama ko dahil nanlalabo na ang paningin niya.”

(I wished that my father will be given capital to buy a cow so that he will have his own and won’t have to tend other people’s cows. And I also wish my mother can have her eyes checked because her sight is already beginning to blur.)

Joviena went on with her day after posting the wish. But deep inside she prayed that her wish for her parents would be one of those that will be picked and granted. She knew, having that dream turn into reality would really make her parents happy.

Her mother and father live with her in their humble abode in Tayug, Pangasinan even though she already has a family of her own. Joviena loves her parents so much and saw the “Anong Wish Mo?” (What’s Your Wish?) campaign as an opportunity for her to somehow give back to her parents.

A few days passed and she received a call from Wish1075 saying that her wish for her loved ones was picked and would be granted by the FM station.

“Sobrang pasasalamat ko po sa Panginoon dahil dininig po Niya ang akin panalangin.”

(I am very grateful to the Lord because He heard my prayers.)

Along with the other wishers, Joviena attended the official launch of Wish107.5 at the Wish Concert held in World Trade Center, Pasay City.

On December 17 Joviena’s wish was granted when they were able to buy a cow for her father through Wish 107.5

She expressed her overwhelming gratitude and how she will never forget that day when the radio station granted her wish for her loved ones. She felt fulfilled and contented to be able to give back to her parents.

Joviena has another wish, this time for Wish1075.

“Sana ay marami pa po kayong mapasayang mga taga-subaybay sa inyong mga programa at sana ay marami pa po kayong mga kahilingang tutuparin.”

(May you have more of your listeners be made happy and may you grant more and more wishes.)
