Drilon, who first rose to fame after emerging as the runner-up of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 in 2008, performed the song live during his Roadshow guesting last September 19. His cover has previously earned the nod of netizens and music fans across the country when he performed it in an earlier gig.

“One Day,” whose composers include Fil-Am singer Bruno Mars, is a call for unity.

In an interview with Spinner, Matiysahu shared that the reggae track is “an anthem of hope with a big beat, the kind of song that makes you bob your head and open your heart at the same time.”

Meanwhile, Drilon shared on Twitter how ecstatic he was upon hearing the news. “So happy Matisyahu shared and commented on my video. So blessed, thank you so much Wish 107.5!”

As of writing, his cover has gathered nearly 30,000 YouTube views. The video, which premiered on Wish 107.5’s YouTube channel on September 21, is actually a wish-come-true for his fans. A number of netizens have been requesting for him to sing the track on the station’s iconic FM booth-on-wheels.
