Michael Pangilinan promotes latest single ‘Tayo Na Lang’ in much-awaited return to Wish 107.5’s Roadshow

Michael Pangilinan is no stranger to sad, hugot-filled songs.

In 2013, he released his first-ever single, “Bakit Ba Ikaw,” a rhetoric ballad that narrates the story of a typical heartsick, hopeless romantic. Three years after, he followed it up with yet another emotionally-charged track, “Hanggang Kailan?.”

The said piece comes from his eponymous album released under Star Music.

Recently, the 20-year-old crooner returned to the Roadshow to share his latest single that is, yes, another addition to his streak of heart-wrenching hits.

“Tayo Na Lang” is composed by accomplished songwriter and record label executive Jonathan Manalo. The song, according to Michael, is dedicated to anyone experiencing romantic woes.

“[Yung song], parang, ‘Akin ka na lang. Alam ko sinasaktan ka niya pero nandito lang ako para mahalin ka. Sana ako na lang’,” the RnB singer spoke of the slow-beat-laden opener of his 2016 record.

As a prologue to what his listeners can expect upon hearing the rest of his album, “Tayo Na Lang” successfully sets the mood. Its lines are rather rending, but the presence of rhythm-and-blues elements makes the song’s over-all sonic landscape soothing and borderline meditating.

The album is available in all record stores nationwide.

Apart from “Tayo Na Lang,” he also performed his WISHclusive renditions of “Bakit Ba Ikaw” and Eric Benet’s “The Last Time” during his guesting.

Michael, who hails from Pulilan, Bulacan, was part of Wish 107.5’s special Roadshow tour in Baliuag, Bulacan held in May 26. The event also featured Jem Cubil, Leah Patricio and Benny Bunny Band.
