Pinoy Rap Icon Gloc-9 on Wish 107.5 Bus: “Very fresh!”

Dec 18, 2014

Pinoy rap idol Gloc-9 visited the Wish1075 Bus earlier this December to promote his album, “Biyahe ng Pangarap”.

“Very fresh!”—this is how Gloc-9 described his experience on the Roadshow with Jelly Kiss last December 10.

The award-winning rapper was amazed with the concept of the Wish1075 Bus — the first FM radio station on the road – which is to serve as a creative and innovative way to bring performers closer to the people.

Since its launching in August this year, the fully- equipped music mobile has already served as a venue for the live performances of some of the industry’s brightest names such as Christian Bautista, Barbie Almalbis, Faith Cuneta and the international music icon, Rex Smith.

Together with singer/guitarist Lirah Bermudez, Gloc-9 rendered acoustic performances of a few cuts from his new album, “Biyahe ng Pangarap”, during his guesting at the Roadshow.

Their performances of the songs “Upuan”, “Takip Silim” and his carrier single “Businessman”drew large crowds around the Wish1075 Bus along North Avenue, Quezon City.

Gloc-9 on His Life as a Performer

More than giving entertainment to his audience, Gloc-9 also shared his life as a performer.

According to him, he utters a prayer before he performs on stage. He also remarked that for him, the most important aspect of a performance is the satisfaction and enjoyment of the audience.

“Ang lagi ko talagang natatandaan every time na nagpeperform ako – regardless of the number of people watching – ay ang itsura ng isang individual na pumunta doon nang buong puso at nanood dahil nando’n ka and well, pakinggan ang bawat kanta na kakantahin mo,” the rap icon said.

(“What I always keep in mind every time I perform – regardless of the number of people watching – is the face of the individual who goes there with his heart; watched simply because you were there, and listens to every song you sing.”)

Aristotle Pollisco, Gloc-9’s real name, is notable for his songs that speak about social issues. He has collaborated on a number of songs with some of the country’s prominent artists, such as the late Francis M., Parokya ni Edgar, and Regine Velasquez.

He has also garnered numerous awards throughout his career, including the 2010 Awit Awards’ Song of the Year for “Upuan”, featuring Jazelle Grutas of Zelle, which was the first time the title was given to a rap song.
