If you’re a frequent watcher of local musical plays, you might have probably seen Poppert. He has landed roles in acclaimed theater productions including the phenomenal “Rak of Aegis.”

Breaking into a more mainstream scene, he joined the Philippine franchise of The Voice in 2014 and got coached by the Popstar Royalty herself, Sarah Geronimo. This year, he became a member of The Ryan Cayabyab Singers.

Indeed, things keep getting better for this versatile artist, and it is only fitting for him to debut with a single that’s just as optimistic as his visions are.

Poppert recently released “Go With The Flow,” an upbeat and uplifting tune that has been gaining attention from the listening public. A day after it was released, it already reached the 19th spot on iTunes Philippines.

In a WISHclusive radio interview, he revealed that the song was the first composition he has ever written.

“Last year ko siya nasulat, kasi dumating sa point ng buhay ko na parang I’m doing theater, I’m with Mr. C [Ryan Cayabyab], laging ganun yung ginagawa ko. I’m happy pero may something missing. Gusto ko ng something new,” Poppert recounted, adding that he wrote the track during his birthday.

He beamed that the “positive song” is a “perfect reminder that whatever situation you are in, whatever problem that may come your way, you just have to go with the flow.”

“Kailangan din kasi nating ma-experience ‘yung mga problema para in the future, handa tayo, maging stronger tayo,” he further enthused.

“Go With the Flow,” which was arranged by Ace Libre of Never the Strangers, is now available on iTunes, Deezer and Spotify. Its official music video has also already entered MYX’s local hits countdown.

As the song got positive response from his listeners and fellow artists like KZ Tandingan and Cacai Bautista, he remarked that he is inspired to write more original materials.

“Naka-focus ako sa single ngayon, pero may mga naka-ready na akong nakasulat. Kasi sa akin, nauuna yung lyrics bago yung melody.”

If there will be enough tracks, Poppert said he is eyeing to release a full-length album in the future.
