A night before their Manila concert, English new wave acts China Crisis and The Lotus Eaters vocalist Peter Coyle jammed on the Wish 107.5 Bus and brought some serious nostalgic 80s vibes.

Peter Coyle, albeit the absence of an accompaniment, showcased his band’s music by doing an a cappella rendition of their debut single, “The First Picture of You.” The song earned much critical acclaim in the UK when it was released in 1983 and was one of the tracks that received more English radio plays than any other songs during the said year.

Meanwhile, China Crisis treated listeners with a WISHclusive performance of their smash single, “Wishful Thinking.” With its sweeping instrumentation, the UK Top 10 track was an instant hit back in 1984, and has since then become a radio staple in various countries, including the Philippines.

It was a first for the said artists to hop on the famous FM-on-wheels. Both lauded the innovative concept behind the Wish 107.5 Bus.

Coyle said that the musical vehicle is “cool and really different” while China Crisis vocalist Eddie Lundon remarked that it is “a great idea” and wished that they “should have one of this in Liverpool [UK].”

Apart from the two acts, many notable international artists have already performed on board the Wish 107.5 Bus. The list includes Rex Smith, Dan Hill, David Pomeranz, The Moffatts and Dua Lipa.

The UK-based music stars are set to co-headline a show at the Kia Theater this July 7. The concert is presented by Steve O’Neal Productions.
