10 Things Every Certified Wisher Knows

Aug 10, 2016

It’s been quite a wishful ride for the past two years. From our launching to a series of many first’s — first WISHdependence Day, first Wish Music Awards, first Wish Ultimate Fandom Challenge — we’ve come to witness this day, our second anniversary. And all these celebrations would not have been more colorful and memorable if not for our loyal listeners, a.k.a. Wishers.

Growing as an upscale station playing nothing but hits all day long, it’s great to know that there are people — all-ears and all-eyes — supporting our every endeavor.

Are you one of our certified Wishers? Here’s a list of things our every avid fan knows:

⦁ “Ano’ng Wish Mo?”

Before we were officially launched into the local FM radio arena, there was this campaign called “Ano’ng Wish Mo? (What’s Your Wish)”. Wishing walls bearing that one question were posted online and displayed in schools and malls around the Metro, trying to solicit a great number of answers from different audiences, young and old.

The mysterious campaign has made people feel that their wishes, big or small, were important and that somebody will act on them. No wonder it has effectively garnered attraction — just in time for the birth of an FM station that would not only play requests, but will more importantly grant wishes.

⦁ Your Wish Concert

It was through a stellar musical show dubbed “Your Wish Concert” that we introduced ourself as the newest all-hits FM station in town. The gathering of today’s most promising acts was held on August 10, 2014 at the jam-packed World Trade Center, Pasay City.

Included in the line-up of performers were top and up-coming bands like Rivermaya, Sponge Cola, 6Cyclemind, Callalily, Gracenote, Banda ni Kleggy, Imago, Moonstar 88 and Kenyo and OPM stars like Noel Cabangon, Nyoy Volante, Aia de Leon, Jona, Richard Poon, Ronnie Liang, Jason Fernandez and Gerald Santos.

⦁ Wish 107.5 Bus, the country’s first FM-on-wheels

Wish 107.5 Bus is the country’s first FM radio mobile fully-equipped with high technology music gadget. Roaming around the Metro, the bus gives artists a one-of-a-kind musical road trip while impromptu spectators are being treated to live mini-concerts.

The roving music hub is our state-of-the-art initiative that primarily aims to bring music closer to people.

TRIVIA: The first artist to perform live on the Wish 107.5 Bus is 5th Gen member and world singing champ Raymond Sajor.

⦁ Wish Jingle

Prince of Ballad Gerald Santos sings the Wish 107.5 jingle to open the night's music spectacle.
Morning ’til night time, you’re by my side/ Just like a real friend, you keep me warm/ Singing my sadness, singing my joy/ Singing my every breath, singing my life…

The sweet sounding Wish 107.5 jingle spells love and tends to be played on a loop inside our heads once heard. The song was composed by veteran songwriter Mon Del Rosario and was recorded by Prince of Ballad Gerald Santos.

⦁ Wish Granting

Aside from the musical aspect of the station, we vow to stay true to our name and continue to grant wishes of different people. From dreams as simple as singing on the Wish 107.5 Bus or in front of a huge crowd to having a simple birthday celebration to giving medical aid to a wisher’s loved ones, the station puts public service at its core through the wish-granting advocacy it sustains for two years now.

⦁ International music icons

The Wish 107.5 Bus has not only welcomed established and emerging artists from the local music scene, it has also witnessed interviews with and performances from international musicians such as YouTube Stars Tiffany Alvord and Tanner Patrick, “Simply Jesse” singer Rex Smith, American reggae group Big Mountain, Inner Circle, and Singaporean sensation Sam Willows.

⦁ Wishdependence Day

Every June 12, we celebrate the country’s Independence Day a la Wish 107.5. Called Wishdependence Day, the event is commemorated through an adventure-packed activity that serve as our Wishers’ ultimate bonding experience.

In 2015, the event was held at the Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where six teams representing each of our radio programs competed in an amazing race. This year, the celebration was staged at the Bakasyunan Resort in Tanay, Rizal as part of the Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge.

⦁ OPM on Wish 1075

We are supporting the local music industry through various partnerships. First is the “OPM Spotlight,” a one-hour Roadshow segment every Friday, that aims to cater the music of the members of Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM). Another is the “A Song of Praise on Wish 107.5,” a Sunday special aired every 5 to 6 in the morning. The local songwriting competition eyes to enliven OPM through creating new music, particularly praise and gospel songs.

⦁ Artists, Fandoms on Spotlight

The Wish Music Awards and the Wish Ultimate Fandom Challenge are two of our flagship events. While the former is being staged to pay homage to the artists making waves in the local music scene, the latter is aimed at putting the fandoms — the supporters of a particular artist or act — on the spotlight. Both huge annual events embody our goal of rekindling people’s love for OPM.

⦁ The #1 FM YouTube Channel
