14 Wishclusives To Watch All Over Again this International Women’s Month

The month of March is dedicated to celebrating the contributions of women in various fields — from politics and business to science, technology, and music. At Wish 107.5, we also commemorate this worldwide occasion by paying tribute to notable female figures who have graced the Wish Bus and impressed us with their respective artistic stylings.

Here are 14 Wishclusive videos showcasing the wide breadth of musical skills our own league of Pinay acts has to offer.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid – “Araw-Gabi”

Timeless and utterly pristine, this highly-anticipated Wishclusive performance of Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is proof that her luster is never waning. Her rendition of “Araw-Gabi” is effortlessly beguiling, highlighting the vocal techniques the Asia’s Songbird has become known for — from her dynamics to her clean runs.

Lani Misalucha – “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin”

Lani Misalucha lends the voice that earned her the title Asia’s Nightingale to her Wish Bus performance of “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin.” Starting it off with her soft vocal touches, the veteran belter makes hearts ache more painfully one line after another as she finishes the right-love-at-the-wrong-time anthem on a dramatic note.

Jaya – “Kasalanan Ko Ba?”

No less than the country’s Queen of Soul dropped by the Wish Bus and blessed fans with her signature, resonating singing chops. Jaya, whose body of works is peppered with numerous hits, shows no sign of slowing down as she continues to offer new music — including this Yeng Constantino-penned “Kasalanan Ko Ba?”

Morissette – “Naririnig Mo Ba?”

Only in her early 20s, Asia’ Phoenix Morissette has already proved that she’s worthy of a shining spot in the industry. This Wishclusive, which features the Himig Handog 2017 finalist “Naririnig Mo Ba?,” is lush with the songstress’ trademark whistles and intentional vocal cracks.

KZ Tandingan – “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig”

KZ Tandingan reintroduces Imelda Papin’s “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig” to a younger generation in this stunning Wishclusive. The quintessential OPM track about short-lived romance is musically spiced up with the Asia’s Soul Supreme’s robust vocals, blending despair with remorse over a gripping guitar arrangement.

Kyla – “Fix You And Me”

Kyla earned her first Wish award with “Fix You And Me” taking home the “R&B Song of the Year” award last January. In this Wishclusive video, the country’s R&B Queen offers a studio-like rendition of the melancholic track that documents an unfeigned faith to a relationship she is trying hard to save.

Yeng Constantino – “Ikaw”

Starring in one of Wish’s earliest Wishclusives, Pop Rock Superstar Yeng Constantino charms audiences with her live, unplugged performance of “Ikaw.” Clearly enamored by love, the influential singer-songwriter generously spreads romantic vibes as she breathes life to the track she wrote for her husband.

Nina – “Jealous”

Soul Siren Nina enfolds listeners in heartbreak and nostalgia as she performs her 2002 hit, “Jealous” live aboard the Wish Bus. With the rain complementing her melodramatic delivery, this performance is capable of reliving even long-forgotten forlorn experiences in love.

Julie Anne San Jose – “Your Song”

Living up to her title of being Asia’s Pop Sweetheart, Julie Anne San Jose’s revival of the Parokya ni Edgar classic, “Your Song” is tender, captivating, and simply endearing. This cut is taken off her “Breakthrough” album, which sees the multi-hyphenate explore other genres including contemporary R&B.

Moira – “Tagpuan”

In 2018, Filipina chanteuse Moira was named by Spotify as the country’s most-streamed local artist. And one of the tracks that cemented her hard-earned status in the industry is her hopeful ode to the power of love and patience. “Tagpuan,” as featured in this million view-racking Wishclusive, is dedicated to her now-husband, fellow musician Jason Marvin Hernandez.

Leanne and Naara – “Again”

When it was released in August 2016, Leanne and Naara’s debut single, “Again” landed on Spotify’s viral charts, reaching No. 1 in the country, No. 2 in Singapore and Indonesia, and No. 3 in Malaysia. Bringing the tuneful song to the Wish Bus, this mellow Wishclusive is a spirit-raising must-watch for anyone who wants to get back on their feet again.

Reese Lansangan – “Exploration No. 5”

Watching “Exploration No. 5” is a great way to get acquainted with Reese Lansangan’s distinctive take on music. This performance, though stripped of the playful ukulele riffs and gentle drums present in the studio version, is still a delightful display of her creativity as she sings about both literal and romantic wonderings. Apart from being an indie darling, she’s also a visual artist, a fashion designer, and a published author.

Barbie Almalbis – “Tabing Ilog”

One of the most notable female rock acts in the country, Barbie Almalbis hits the listener’s wistful spot as she performs “Tabing Ilog” alongside her band live on the Wish Bus. The track, which is the theme song of the ‘90s youth-oriented show of the same name, showcases not only her ageless vocals but also her intoxicating guitar-playing skills.

Alex Bruce – “Mind As A Weapon”

At a tender age of eleven, prodigious fire-spitter Alex Bruce is already making a name for herself. Representing lasses in the local hip-hop scene dominated by males, the Batangueña act is bold in speaking out her desire to be heard and make a change through her words and music — like how she impressively does in “Mind As A Weapon.”
