3rd Wish 107.5 Music Awards Set For January 15, 2018 at the Big Dome

The SMART Araneta Coliseum will once again witness a grand moment in Philippine music history as the Wish 107.5 Music Awards is set to return for its third year on January 15, 2018.

As in the previous years, the annually-held event will pay tribute to the Philippine music scene’s cream of the crop, recognizing their efforts to uplift Filipino artistry even beyond the confines of the archipelago.

However, the 3rd WMA aims to do more, as it introduces a new award, the Wishclusive Performance of the Year by an International Artist, to recognize foreigners who have shared their talents on board the Wish Bus.

The recognition also serves as a prelude to Wish 107.5’s intent to bring its undertakings to a wider scale -- and that is by giving a unique musical platform not just to local acts but to foreign performers as well.

Veering away from the gender-based categories of the WMA’s sophomore year, the ceremony’s third installment will now also give out titles that focus on music genres.

For this year, the music awards will have the following categories up for voting:

• Wish Contemporary Folk Song of the Year
• Wish Urban Song of the Year
• Wish R&B Song of the Year
• Wish Rock/Alternative Song of the Year
• Wish Ballad Song of the Year
• Wish Pop Song of the Year
• Wishclusive Contemporary Folk Performance of the Year
• Wishclusive Urban Performance of the Year
• Wishclusive R&B Performance of the Year
• Wishclusive Rock/Alternative Performance of the Year
• Wishclusive Ballad Performance of the Year
• Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year
• Wishclusive Collaboration of the Year
• Wishclusive Performance of the Year by an International Artist
• Wish Promising Artist of the Year
• Wish Young Artist of the Year
• Wish Group/Duo of the Year
• Wish Artist of the Year

Winners in these categories will be determined through Wishers’ votes (15%), and judges’ votes (85%). The panel of judges will be made up of prominent names in the entertainment circuit.

Polling period will kick off on December 15 and will end on January 15 at 12 noon.

On top of these accolades, other special recognitions will be handed out including the Wishclusive Viral Video of the Year, the Wish Reactors’ Choice, and the Wishclusive Elite Circle awards.

For its third year, the WMA will also live up to its commitment to be an awarding ceremony with a heart. Winners in the different categories will have the chance to grant cash donations to their chosen beneficiaries.
