A First: The Juans Jam with Fans via Wish 107.5 Bus

The Juans, a five-member band rapidly making waves in the local music scene, rocked the Wish 107.5 Bus for the first time last July 6 and gave their fans a top-notch Roadshow jam.

The pop band, which offers an LSS-worthy musicality complemented by their boy-next-door charm, is composed of Carl Guevarra (vocals/keyboard), Japs Mendoza (vocalist/guitar), Jiad Arroyo (guitar/backup vocals), Jason De Mesa (bass/backup vocals), and Daniel Grospe (drums/vocals).

Their first visit to the custom-built music mobile has sent Twitter abuzz with the hashtag, #TheJuansWishRoadshow, making it to the seventh spot of the Philippines trends list.

During their guesting, the band covered The 1975’s “The Sound” and rendered a WISHclusive performance of “Binibini sa MRT.” Their lively and party-like on-air jam received much praise from their fans:

“Binibini sa MRT” is a finalist at the Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop) 2016 composed by multi-talented musician Johann Garcia. The band was invited to interpret the song.

“We are so grateful to be part of this year’s edition of the competition. Last year, we actually went to watch the finals and we can’t believe, that now, we will be interpreting one of the songs,” Carl shared.

The Juans, signed under VIVA Records, together with their fans club, The Juanistas, also recently competed in the first Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge and finished third runner-up.

Jason said that their experience at the fandom battle, which concluded last June 28, is indeed a wish come true as it was their first time to perform at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum. “We’re very happy because we’ve long been wishing to be at the Big Dome.”

“It was overwhelming we were both happy and nervous at the same time,” Japs added.

The band and their fandom won a total of Php 300,000, wherein a huge part of this cash prize will be donated to their chosen beneficiary, Real Life Foundation, Inc.

“Real Life Foundation is an organization that sends college students to school, hoping that once they graduate they can make real change and give huge impact to our society,” Carl remarked.

He also added that like the foundation, the band also aims to contribute change by pursuing their passion of making great music, and inspiring others to go after their dreams as well.
