Against the Current Rocks Manila with ‘In Our Bones’ Concert

For the third time, American pop-rock band Against the Current (ATC) invaded Manila and sent their fans screaming with their high-energy music.

As part of their “In our Bones” world tour, the trio composed of vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Daniel Gow, and drummer William Ferri rocked the Skydome, SM North Edsa in Quezon City on September 10 to promote their full-length debut album.

The trio, an active figure in the global rock circuit and in YouTube’s thriving community of singer/songwriters, released “In our Bones” in May this year.

Days and even hours before their show, the New York-based band bonded with some lucky members of their solid fan base in the country through meet-and-greet sessions.

Anticipation from their loyal Filipino supporters peaked when the band lighted up the stage and kicked off their show. ATC’s 17-track set list opened with “Runaway” and “Forget Me Now,” both cuts taken from their latest record.

The group’s pop-rock perfection music hyped up the jam-packed Skydome and sustained the vivid atmosphere down to their encore featuring “Dreaming Alone” and “Gravity.”

ATC first visited the country in 2014 when they performed at the CCP Main Theater with fellow YouTube star Alex Goot. This was followed by their 2015 Gravity World Tour held at the Metrotent in Ortigas, Pasig City.

Three-piece OPM band Gracenote served as the concert’s front act, performing “I Will Wait,” “Taciturn” and The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down.”

“Against the Current: In our Bones” was presented by Phoenix Productions.
