Round Three: Back on the Roadshow with Darren Espanto

Just a couple of months after his second guesting on the Roadshow, world-class teen talent Darren Espanto stepped foot once again on the Wish 107.5 Bus to render a yet another wonderful live performance.

The total performer treated his fans and the enthused crowd at Quezon Avenue on November 24 as he performed two original songs, “I Believe In Me” and “Makin’Moves” along with a cover of Fantasia’s “I Believe” — all included in his self-titled debut album.

Darren is thankful for the experience he had during the station’s anniversary special on August 10, a surely unforgettable moment for the young star. His Wishclusive performance of Sia’s “Chandelier” went viral online, featured by various entertainment and news websites including the well-renowned variety site, “9gag”. International celebrities such as Nicki Minaj and Ashton Kutcher have even shared the video on their Facebook pages.

Currently, the YouTube video of Darren singing “Chandelier” inside the Wish 1075 bus has almost six million views.

Despite this, Darren remained humble and recounted how he had not even expected the video to gain the abundant praise and appreciation it did both locally and internationally.

For his third time on the Roadshow, ‘Darren on Wish1075Bus’ became a trending topic on Twitter an hour before his guesting and which only escalated in time, eventually peaking at the third spot.

His fans, the ‘Darrenatics’, took to twitter to show their support for the newfound musical sensation. Some of their questions were answered live by Darren himself.

One question asked the singer if he still gets a case of stage fright before performances. Darren immediately confessed, “Yeah, I do. I feel like throwing up.” Another question asked him about his current favorite song. Followed with a stellar a-capella sample, Darren stated his love for the latest Adele hit “Hello.

Countless blessings

Darren’s musical career has continued to blossom over the past few months. During the recent Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, he was given the opportunity to sing their theme song and perform in front of world leaders.

Moreover, his debut album had also recently won in the PMPC or the Philippine Movie Press Club Star awards for Best Album Cover and Concept and Best Pop Album.

Darren also shares that there are music videos of his original songs to watch out for.

“For my career to have a nice flow for the next days and years to come, hopefully,” said Darren when asked about his wishes. Furthermore, Darren wishes everyone to grab a copy of his debut album – the deluxe edition, now out in record stores nationwide.

On a more personal note, Darren shares that his ultimate wish is to be home this holiday season.
