Belle Mariano Debuts ‘Somber’ EP, Gears Up for ‘Beloved’ Concert

Multi-talented artist Belle Mariano is back in the music scene.

The “Sigurado” act recently debuted a record called “Somber,” which is the first half of her two-part sophomore album. The second part is slated for release later this year.

“Somber” comprises six tracks that feature mellow and acoustic guitar-driven sounds. “Session Road,” “Pansamantala,” “Running Out of Time,” and “Bugambilya” were written by ABS-CBN’s homegrown talents, Cesca, Trisha Denise, and Jeremy G.

Meanwhile, Mariano, who is now in her songwriter era, also co-wrote two tracks: “Roadtrip” and “Somber and Solemn.” The latter, which serves as the key track of her newest offering, “delves into accepting mistakes as inevitable in life and realizing the beauty of life during the lowest moments.”

In an interview with Wish 107.5 during her recent Wish Bus stint earlier this month, she further explained that “the song is about faith” and a reminder that “there’s peace after… every wave we face in life.”

As a whole, Mariano’s latest project is a journey of introspection. And her goal for it — and her music in general — is to spark inspiration.

Concert, career wish, and more

Coinciding with the release of the album, the 21-year-old artist will hold a solo concert at the New Frontier Theater. The show, titled “Beloved,” will take place on July 22, 2023, Saturday (You can buy your tickets here).

In her Wish Bus guesting, she shared that the biggest challenge is “to be able to articulate the message of the entire concert.”

“But I’m very excited. You know, we’ve been very hands-on with conceptualizing [the concert],” she added.

In January last year, she staged her first-ever digital concert, “Daylight,” which is also the name of her debut album. Like the said show, “Beloved” is organized by ABS-CBN Events together with StarPop, Star Magic, and Rise Artists Studio.

Apart from her upcoming concert and the second half of her sophomore album, Mariano will be gracing the small screen with the TV series, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” where she will star alongside Donny Pangilinan.

The versatile artist acknowledges that singing and acting are different crafts. Nonetheless, she stated that her passion for both is the same.

“I love everything about music and acting. I both see them as art,” she mused.

As for her future music-related endeavors, she revealed that she wants to write more songs that are inspirational and hopeful. Sound-wise, she wishes to explore different genres, including R&B.

When asked about her biggest wish for her career, she enthused: “To be able to touch more people and to be able to inspire more young girls to never stop dreaming.”
