Celebrating 10 Years, Wish 107.5 to Hold ‘Wish Date: Obscure’ at the Big Dome

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Wish 107.5 — one of the country’s leading music brands — is set to hold “Wish Date: Obscure” on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Araneta Coliseum.

The event is the 14th installment of the Wish Date concert series produced by KDR Music House.

The series set itself apart from the usual concert experience by featuring a short film intertwined with live performances from OPM artists. The short film serves as the anchor of all the performances, with the guest artists giving emotive renditions of original and cover songs that fit the narrative.

Star-studded show

Headlining the upcoming Wish Date event is Stell, one-fifth of P-pop group SB19. The multitalented act recently made his solo debut with “Room” and sent the digital space abuzz with his rendition of “All By Myself” at David Foster’s latest Philippine show.

Gigi De Lana and the Gigi Vibes and Silent Sanctuary are also set to return to the Wish Date stage after their previous stints in December 2023 and July 2022, respectively.

Neocolours, first formed in the ‘80s, is also part of the lineup. The esteemed pop-rock band boasts many massive hits, including “Tuloy Pa Rin” and “Hold On.”

A number of KDR Music House’s talents are also lending their musical prowess for Wish 107.5’s 10th anniversary special. These include Hakki, Letters from June, and Esay, who performed during the Wish Bus South Korea launch in June.

“Obscure,” the short film will revolve around Carlos (to be played by Elijah Canlas),  a compassionate lawyer haunted by a traumatic childhood. The story will follow his journey as he finds — and fights for — love and learns how this universal emotion shines the brightest in the darkest moments.

The film will also star JC Alcantara, Karina Bautista, and Bernadette Allyson-Estrada.

A decade of music and wishes

The upcoming Wish Date will also highlight Wish 107.5’s commitment to championing charity. Apart from the usual fusion of music and film, the newest Wish Date installment will have a dedication portion where select performers will donate to their chosen beneficiaries.

Wish Date: Obscure serves as one of the main highlights of Wish 107.5’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Earlier this week, Wish 107.5 also started giving away special anniversary merch to lucky winners of its radio and on-ground activities.

Wish South Korea’s social media pages also went live, coinciding with the publication of Wishclusives performed aboard the recently unveiled bus in Korea. With this bus’ launch, Wish 107.5’s musical fleet now comprises four buses capable of broadcasting and recording live performances. These buses operate in the Philippines, USA, and Korea.

Wish 107.5 was first launched on August 10, 2014.
