The “Eraserheads: Combo On The Run,” a documentary feature film by Maria Diane Ventura, is set to premiere in cinemas for a three-day run only, from March 21 to March 23, 2025.
The film will take the audience on a journey through the story of a band that defined a generation, offering an exclusive peek at the untold story of their breakup and how their historic 2022 “Huling El Bimbo” reunion concert came to be.
In a press conference held with the producers and the filmmaker, Ely Buendia said that the documentary celebrates “music that transcends.”

While filming the documentary was a learning experience for Buendia, he also expressed hope that fans would appreciate it. “I hope they think [that] they [will] got their money’s worth,” he quipped.
Meanwhile, when asked about his career, the OPM icon candidly shared, “We can’t be on top all the time. And when you’re at the peak, the best thing to do is to enjoy ourselves.”
For Ventura, the cinematic project is more than a portrayal of a band’s breakup.
“This is a comprehensive deconstruction of the band’s mythology, humanity, complex
relationship and the lasting mark they left on Filipino culture — one that transcends generations
and differences,” she remarked.

During the press conference, she also learned more about herself by simply watching the band members in their vulnerable state. “The guys’ music is meant to be heard,” she said.
To heighten the excitement surrounding this highly anticipated documentary, they have announced an intimate performance by the band during the screening.
