Darren Espanto Surprises Fans with Impromptu Concert

Less than a year since his powerful performance on the kids’ edition of The Voice Philippines in 2014, thirteen-year-old Darren Espanto has sold out concerts and has launched an all original solo album; effectively cementing his status as one of today’s brightest stars in the music industry.

The social media darling has yet again added another army to his ever growing number of followers on February 24 when he performed a mini live concert while traversing along the streets of EDSA on the one and only FM radio on wheels, the Wish1075 Bus.

Joining Wish jock Jelly Kiss on The Roadshow, Darren performed “In Love Ako Sa’yo” and “Stuck” from his self-titled studio album. Radio listeners and audience outside the bus cheered in excitement when Darren did his own rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud."

Born in Calgary, Canada to Filipino parents, Darren has been joining and winning singing competitions since he was eight years old.

“Music is my passion. Singing is my passion. So nung napasok na po ako sa music industry, masayang masaya po ako, very blessed. I can never be happier. Natupad ko na rin po yung  pangarap ko, unti-unti,” shared Darren.

(Music is my passion. Singing is my passion.   So when I got into the music industry, I was very happy; very blessed. I can never be happier. I am fulfilling my dreams little by little.)

Darren shared his wish before the show ended. “’Yung wish ko po ay tumuloy-tuloy po yung career ko po and sana po suportahan pa rin ako ng mga supporters ko, mga Darrenatics,” he enthused.
