Newest R&B Royalty Daryl Ong Croons ‘Ikaw na Nga’ Hit Remake

Hailed as one of the newest RnB royalties in the country, Daryl Ong crooned to wishers as he performed his popular remake of the 2009 OPM hit, “Ikaw Na Nga,” live from the Wish 107.5 Bus on September 16.

His Roadshow stint was part of the promotion for his self-titled debut album which was released earlier in August under Star Music.

The 28-year-old The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 alumnus also performed “Dapat Pa Ba” and his latest single, “Mabuti Pa.”

During his guesting, he shared that he is also into songwriting. He revealed that some of the tracks included in his album are his own compositions.

He also thanked his fans, called collectively as “Darylnatics” and “Darylmania,” for the continuous support they give. As a treat, he delightedly answered some of the questions they posted via Twitter using the hashtag #DarylOngOnWish1075.

When asked about his secret to maintaining his soulful voice, he shared that “getting enough sleep is helpful” and “drinking salabat is effective.”

Daryl was also game in answering quirky questions. When one fan tweeted, “Who is your celebrity crush,” he revealed on air that it is Maja Salvador.

Originally from Palawan, Daryl was a band vocalist before joining The Voice. He also served as an interpreter for a local songwriting competition for praise songs.

The RnB heartthrob also maintains a YouTube channel where he uploads covers of chart-topping hits like “Thinking Out Loud” and “All of Me.”

Meanwhile, his guesting marked the first Roadshow performance broadcasted live from the newly-dressed Wish 107.5 Bus.
