Dionela’s Handwritten Lyric Sheet of ‘Musika’ Sold for 1 Million Pesos

Bulacan-based singer-songwriter Dionela has recently shared that a vlogger bought his handwritten lyric sheet of “Musika” for Php1,000,000.

“A vlogger bought the handwritten lyrics of my song ‘Musika’ for Php1,000,000 but after he told me the reason why, I burst into tears,” Dionela said in a TikTok video.

Dionela was visibly ecstatic on the viral video that he posted on April 4. As of writing, the video has garnered 2.8 million views on TikTok.

The vlogger who bought the piece, Udeng TV, saw the handwritten lyric sheet with coffee stains online. He reached out to Dionela to ask if he could buy it as a surprise gift for his nephew who’s a big fan of the OPM act.

“‘Yung iba siguro magtataka bakit ko ba bibilhin ng 1 million ‘to? Hindi po ako magaling kumanta, pero mahilig po akong makinig ng musika. Iba po ‘yung tingin ko sa mga artists. Iba po ‘yung value sa akin ng mga artists,” Udeng TV told Dionela. “This is legit, man. Studio soon, baby,” Dionela said, and even shared that his “whole body was shaking” during their in-person meet-up.

“Behind the cam, he told me na ‘Ang pera mauubos at kikitain ‘yan. Pero ‘yung mga puso na nahahawakan ng musika ninyong mga artists [ay] walang kapalit na halaga. Dahil sa kanta mong ‘Musika,’ mas minahal ko ang pamilya ko. Maraming salamat, Dionela,’” the singer-songwriter concluded.

“Musika,” written by Dionela and his girlfriend, Meizy Mendoza, is a heartfelt track that depicts a type of love that will stand the test of time. “Kung oras ay nababalik lang sana / Ay babalik nung una kang nakita / At aking iuulat sa iyong umabot / Nang walang hanggan ang storya nating dalawa” are some of the song’s more swoon-worthy lyrics.

As of writing, “Musika” already has 6.8 million streams on Spotify and 5.7 million views on YouTube.
