Fandoms Take Twitter by Storm during Ultimate Fandom Challenge’s Second Trending Battle

The remaining contenders in the first Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge (UFC) took Twitter by storm last Sunday, May 29, as they competed for another round of trending battle.

Harnessing the power of the popular social media platform, the fandoms as well as their favorite artists joined forces and tweeted their way to the Philippine trends list.

Darrenatics, Darren Espanto’s fandom, once again proved their dominance as they emerged victorious on the trending battle peaking at the top spot of the Philippines trends list with at least 135,000 tweets as of 9 p.m. of the same day.

Darren’s army of fans also made it to the Worldwide trends list, securing its no. 6 position for at least an hour.

Following Darrenatics were The Juanistas, the fans club of the fast-rising Filipino band The Juans, with 86,700 tweets and Jason Dy’s Dyfenders with 53,600 tweets.

The three Twitter trending battle for UFC’s final round will comprise 15% of a fandom’s final score.

Aside from the social media battle and online voting, the fandoms’ unity will also be tested through an adventure race to be held on WISHdependence Day, June 12.

The finals night will be held on June 28 at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum where a total of Php 2.3 million will be given away to the winning fandoms, their artists and chosen beneficiaries.

UFC’s Final Four is composed of Darrenatics, Dyfenders, Mowienatics (Morissette) and The Juans, while the Wish Fandom Survivors – those vying to be the 4th, 5th and 6th runners-up – include Darylnatics (Daryl Ong), Francisnatics (Francis Lim) and Juan Karlos United Families Club (JK Labajo).
