FELIP to Hold ‘7sins’ Album Concert this July

FELIP is all set to take over the concert stage on July 27, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Space at OneAyala, Makati, following the release of his “7sins” album. The show is also expected to have its second leg in Japan this September.

FELIP released the 7sins album on July 5. Emphasizing that it is not religion-centric, the record explores human shortcomings and takes listeners on a journey of honesty and acceptance of unexpressed emotions. Ultimately, it’s about embracing one’s true self.

Boasting a total of nine genre-diverse songs, the album shows FELIP’s different sides and stories. It includes the tracks “envy,” “foes,” “wrath,” “pride,” “gluttony (feat. PLAYERTWO),” and “sloth.”

It also features a collaboration with Belgian-Filipino artist Cyra Gwynth, whom FELIP looks up to as an artist. She took part in writing “greed,” an emotional song about loving the wrong person. Gwynth also co-wrote and lent her vocals for the song “lust.”

The album ends with a track of redemption and acknowledgment — “ache.”

In a statement, FELIP shared, “One must acknowledge that people make mistakes to accept these feelings. The sins of envy, wrath, greed, pride, gluttony, lust, and sloth are part of human nature. It is only when we accept these mistakes that we can understand and be truly at peace and confident within one’s self.”

FELIP on the Wish Bus

Despite his busy schedule with SB19 engagements, shoots, and projects, FELIP dedicated his time and engaged in a hands-on approach to creating and producing the album. According to a press release, it took him seven months to write, record, and mix the tracks. For the album, he held late-night sessions with Isagani Palabyab and fellow Warner Music artist Luke April of PLAYERTWO.

FELIP and PLAYERTWO have also previously collaborated on the tracks “FLYYY” and “Pagdali.”

As 7sins, his debut solo album, showcases how FELIP is keen to take creative control of his solo releases, fans can only expect a unique concert in support of the said project.
