FELIP, Quest, and More Make a Splash in Aquatic Beats Concert

Offering good music and good vibes in a water park setting, Wish 107.5 and Aqua Planet Philippines kicked off April with a concert dubbed “Aquatic Beats.”

The show was held on April 1 at the Aqua Planet in Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Beating the heat with good music

Notwithstanding the sweltering heat, scores of music fans flocked to Aqua Planet to watch Aquatic Beats. The concert featured performances from FELIP, Quest, MC Einstein, and Ryssi.

Front act DJ Pae set the mood right as she played a 20-minute set packed with remixed hits from the present and the past.

Meanwhile, Idol Philippines alumna Ryssi showcased her singing chops with her renditions of South Border’s “Rainbow,” Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love,” and Sarah Geronimo’s “Kilometro.” She ended her set with a live performance of the Aqua Planet jingle, complete with dance choreographies from the water park’s mascots.

MC Einstein, a hip-hop and R&B soloist who is also part of the music collective Ex-Battalion, came ready to pinch hearts with a sweep of his originals, “Wag Na Lang,” “Habol,” and “Wala Na.” Despite the songs’ theme of heartbreak, their bouncy melodies were well prominent that they had the audience grooving along.

For his set, singer-songwriter Quest rendered tracks that swayed from empowering to nostalgic and heart-fluttering.

“Sige Lang” and “Infinity” (which he originally recorded with John Roa) are anthems of powering through.” “Dati,” a track he released together with Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos, yearns for yesteryears’ simplicity. In one part of the song, he went down the stage and invited a member of the audience to sing a verse of the well-loved hit.

Before performing his finale, “Paborito,” he teased the crowd with an R&B-tinged snippet of SB19’s “Go Up.”

Next was the performance of multi-hyphenate act and Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year FELIP, which served as the main highlight of Aquatic Beats. He brought the swag of his “COM•PLEX” EP into the live stage and got the crowd singing and rapping along to “DRINKSMOKE” and “MICTEST.”

He also performed “Palayo,” his first-ever single as a soloist. The Bisaya and English language song, which talks about walking away from a relationship, earned FELIP a Wishclusive R&B Performance of the Year trophy earlier this year.

During “STRAYDOGS,” his last number for the show, he also descended from the stage, much to the delight of SB19 and FELIP supporters, fondly called A’TIN and sisiw. He also performed the “COM•PLEX” EP closer aboard the Wish Bus, which was stationed near the main entrance of the water park.

Aquatic Beats was hosted by DJ Adam of the Wish List radio program, and was also streamed on Aqua Planet’s Facebook page.

Apart from the concert, early-bird ticket holders also got access to all of the park’s slides. Aqua Planet boasts modern facilities and is considered the biggest aqua park in the country and one of the biggest in Asia.

In December last year, Wish 107.5 and Aqua Planet teamed up to present The Holiday Waves show, featuring kiyo, Jason Fernandez, and Chloe Redondo.
