Goo Goo Dolls Stun Filipino Fans with Electrifying Big Dome Show

It was nothing short of electrifying when acclaimed alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls brought their biggest hits to Manila for the first time last February 11, Saturday.

Stunned Filipino fans ere certainly in for a rock n’ roll treat as loud, thumping beats and cheerful sing-along’s echoed throughout the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

In between their sets, the dynamic tandem of John Rzeznik and Robby Takac shared conversations and anecdotes with their fans.

On a comical note, bassist Takac revealed what took them so long to visit the country, “We just wanted to make sure we were very well-practiced, so we took 30 years and were all practiced up for you guys.”

Their well-curated roster of high-energy and acoustic performances include “Come to Me,” “Here is Gone” and “Sympathy.”

Besides playing their smash songs like “Iris”, they also showcased their talents in playing harmonica and saxophone, which made the fans more hyped up and excited.

Ending the night on a high note, Goo Goo Dolls delighted their screaming fans with a two-song encore performance.

As if the over-20-track set was not enough, the band shared on Twitter that they are planning to come back soon.

The band is embarking on a world tour to promote their 11th studio album, “Boxes.”
