Jason Wade Delivers Lifehouse Hits and More in Manila Show

Jason Wade — the creative force behind American band Lifehouse — held a nostalgic show at the New Frontier Theater on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Organized in collaboration with Playback Music Festival, the concert showcased the best of Lifehouse’s music. Wade, accompanied by lead guitarist Steven Stout, delivered a full acoustic set, making his band’s songs even more emotionally stirring.

In an interview days ahead of last Saturday’s event, Wade shared why he was enthusiastic to perform before his Filipino fans again.

“We were excited to come back because it’s one of our favorite places to play. The people are so lovely and friendly. It’s just a good vibe,” Wade remarked.

Recounting Lifehouse’s Mall of Asia Arena concert in October 2015, he shared, “Hearing people sing songs that weren’t hits in the States but resonated over there was, like, really cool… It was a really special moment for us.”

Reciprocating his Filipino fans’ love, Wade rendered a well-curated setlist that covered some of the best tracks off Lifehouse’s albums over the years. Among those he performed are “Somewhere in Between,” “First Time,” “You Belong To Me,” “Falling In,” and “Everything.” There were also medleys and memorable covers that left the crowd in awe.

In one portion of the show, Wade performed a poignant rendition of The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun.”

As a special treat to the Filipino crowd, the American act also sang Jimmy Bondoc’s break-up hit, “Let Me Be the One.”

Wade also performed “All of My Life,” a new waltzy and dreamy song about dedicating one’s life to a special someone.  “And I promise to love you/ Like nobody’s loved you/ All of my life/ I’m gonna love you/ No matter what we go through/ Until the stars fall from the sky,” he sublimely sang in the chorus.

The show wouldn’t have been complete without Wade serving his band’s most recognized songs.

For the encore, he performed “You and Me,” “Blind,” and “Hanging by a Moment,” which is the very song that catapulted Lifehouse into mainstream fame.
