Jonas Brothers Leave Filipino Fans Burnin’ Up at Their ‘The Tour’ Concert in Manila

Hold on! This is not an S.O.S.!

American pop-rock band Jonas Brothers finally returned to rock the Manila concert scene once again after 12 long years — leaving fans, well, speechless, over the edge, and just breathless.

“Manila, it’s been way too long,” Joe uttered. Their last tour in the country was way back in 2012.

The Manila stop of their “The Tour” concert was held on February 22, 2024, at the Mall of Asia Arena. It also served as the global tour’s first show for the year. Jonas Brothers debuted “The Tour,” which features all their five albums, in August 2023 in New York.

The pop-rock band, which consists of brothers Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas, has created sensational music that turned into big hits through the years. “When You Look Me In The Eyes,” “Year 3000,” “S.O.S.,” “Burnin’ Up,” “Love Bug,” and “Sucker” have all become anthems of a generation. Their massive catalog started in 2006 when they released their debut album “It’s About Time.” The brothers’ careers continued to soar with their self-titled album in 2007, followed by “A Little Bit Longer” in 2008, and “Line, Vines, and Trying Times” in 2009.

However, the brothers decided to disband to pursue their solo careers in 2013. After parting ways and making names of their own, the band announced their comeback in 2019 and dropped “Happiness Begins.” This is followed by their latest album, “The Album” in 2023.

Comeback After 12 Years

Filipino fans went wild when the Jonas Brothers opened the night by performing “What A Man Gotta Do.” Then, they went straight to classics from their self-titled album: “S.O.S.,” “Hold On,” “Goodnight and Goodbye,” and “That’s Just The Way We Roll.”

“We’re so excited for tonight. We’re just getting started. We’re taking it way back,” Joe said to the crowd. The band continued blessing the attendees with doses of nostalgia as they sang a medley of songs from the same record.

“Honestly, we love to come back sooner then,” Nick revealed. Delighting their supporters who waited over a decade for their return, the youngest Jonas introduced one of their biggest hits as a gift to their Filipino fans: “To our incredible fans here in the Philippines, thank you for making this song one of our most popular in your country.”

The crowd screamed their hearts out as soon as they heard the loud, thudding sound of the drum, signaling the first notes of “When You Look Me In The Eyes.” Fans immediately lit their phone flashlights and held them up high, creating one of the most transcendental moments of the night. The “Jonas Brothers” album concluded as the band performed “Year 3000.”

The brothers next graced the stage by performing two songs from their latest album. Pinoy fans were evidently over the moon as Joe walked forward to the audience and owned the song “Vacation Eyes” as if it’s “Joe-cation Eyes.”

Looking back, it had been a long journey since the band sent the hearts of loyal fans aflutter with their co-starring roles in the 2008 film “Camp Rock.” But, as if the movie had just been released yesterday, the crowd exuded youthful glee as the brothers performed “Gotta Find You,” “Introducing Me,” and “Play My Music.”

After that set, the brothers rendered a medley of songs from their album “A Little Bit Longer.” The trio also performed clear crowd favorites, “Love Bug” and “Burnin’ Up,” which sent the audience members singing and screaming, especially in the choruses.

Joe, Kevin, and Nick then moved everyone’s hearts as they performed more songs from their efforts, “The Album” and “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times.”

“Whether you’re a new fan or a long-time fan, welcome to the family,” Nick said, taking the fans’ excitement to a whole new level.

The pop-rock act continued their show with Nick performing his hit solo single, “Jealous.” Joe rocked the stage next with his performance of DNCE’s signature song, “Cake by the Ocean.” As soon as the lights dimmed and projected blue lights, the crowd turned on their phone flashlights once more to provide beautiful visuals to Joe’s rendition of “Walls,” marking the last song that the band performed from their latest album.

On the “Happiness Begins” portion of their concert,  they gave fans live performances of tracks that were part of their comeback album. The record was released after their almost six-year hiatus.

Before taking their final bow, the brothers stunned the Manila crowd with two of their biggest recent hits, “Sucker” and “Leave Before You Love Me.”

Throughout the two-hour show, attendees got to witness how the Jonas Brothers are loved by their fans – from young ones to grown-ups. It was certainly a rollercoaster ride. But waiting for their comeback concert was worth it. Because no matter how long it has been, good music will always be good music. And it’s the kind of music that will always leave supporters burnin’ up and wanting more — even if it takes another 12 years.
