Vulnerable and Versatile: Josh Cullen Stuns in ‘Lost & Found’ Album Concert

Josh Cullen showcased his vulnerable side — and versatility as an artist — during the “Lost & Found” album concert held on September 28, Saturday, at the New Frontier Theater.

The show coincided with the official release of his debut solo album. The record comprises nine tracks (including two instrumentals) that narrate his journey of battling internal struggles and overcoming them with resilience and hope.

“This album explores themes of pain and suffering, redemption, and the strength of human resilience, inspired by my inner truth. In ‘Lost and Found,’ I wrote about the pain that never truly goes away, the trauma that lingers long after we think our wounds have healed, and discovering strength within ourselves,” he shared in a press release.

During the event, he performed tracks from the said record, including “See Me,” “Honest,” “No Control,” and “Sumaya,” showcasing the range of his musical prowess.

In “Lights Out,” he performed with one of his special guests, Mo of Alamat. Kael Guerrero, another guest performer, also joined Cullen on stage to perform their newly released song, “Takbuhan.”

As he performed “Silent Cries,” one of the standout tracks of his album, Cullen got emotional,  “Kayo ang dahilan bakit ako nagpapatuloy. Mula ngayong araw, hindi na ako magpapanggap, ipapakita ko sa inyo buong-buo kung sino si Josh Cullen. And if I’m being honest, niligtas niyo ako.”

Another highlight of the show was when PABLO, a fellow SB19 member and someone Cullen deeply admires, made his appearance. Although only two members of the P-pop quintet were on stage, their renditions of SB19 hits “GENTO” and “CRIMZONE” took the crowd’s energy to new heights.

“Sobrang personal nung album para sa kanya. Sobrang nakakatuwa lang na habang kinakanta niya ‘yung mga awit na personal para sa kaniya sa inyong lahat, nakikisabay kayo and pinaparamdam niyo sa kaniya ‘yung suporta niyo… Maraming salamat sa pagsuporta kay Josh Cullen,” PABLO remarked.

PABLO also performed his originals “Butata” and “Drowning in the Water.”

SB19’s Ken, who held his own album concert in July, was in attendance.

Speaking of guests, fellow P-pop act KAIA also jazzed up the evening with their performances of “YOU DID IT” and “Dalawa.” Meanwhile, fast-rising band Letters from June — whose single “Bituin” has landed on Spotify’s Viral Hits Philippines and OPM Rising charts — served as the front act.

Apart from “Lost & Found” songs, Cullen also performed previously released tracks, including “Yoko Na,” “SOFA,” “Wild Tonight,” and “Pakiusap Lang.” He ended the night with “Lost & Found” album opener “1999” and “Get Right” — with “JC bills” fittingly turning into confetti.
