BTS Member Jungkook Spotlights Zack Tabudlo, Young Cocoa

Through the years, the musical tastes of the members of the phenomenally successful K-pop group BTS have evolved — and this fact is evident in their rich, complex, and impressive discography. In an interview, BTS’ very own Jungkook shared how his musical preferences have changed from when he was training to be a K-pop idol. Nowadays, he is more drawn to the kind of music that he himself would like to create.

And to the delight of Pinoy ARMYs everywhere, Jungkook has recently shared his appreciation for one of the most promising OPM acts today.

On Tuesday, March 14, Jungkook shared Zack Tabudlo’s “Give Me Your Forever” in a livestream.

The singer-songwriter woke up to the wonderful news and expressed his elation on social media.

“So i jwu and apparently i was blowing up on social media because…. THE JUNGKOOK. THE GOLDEN MAKNAE. JUST LISTENED TO GIVE ME YOUR FOREVER,” wrote Tabudlo. “He even said he added my song to his playlist,” he added.

Tabudlo’s “Give Me Your Forever” is a heartwarming ballad that serves as a romantic declaration of love. On February 14, 2023, Tabudlo released his ten-track sophomore album, “For All,” which is a collection of songs that showcases his diverse musical influences throughout the years.

“I have never done anything like this before, and I hope you can dance, cry, laugh, groove, and completely lose it with complete freedom and no judgment. This is from me, to you. This is FOR ALL,” he wrote on his Instagram post.

Other BTS members listen to OPM acts

Zack Tabudlo is far from being the only OPM artist to have caught the supergroup’s attention. Back in 2022, Kim Tae-hyung, also professionally known as V, featured Paolo Sandejas’ 2020 single, “Sorry.” In a vlog, the K-pop superstar can be seen enjoying and singing along to Sandejas’ song, which is also part of his “Drive Vlog” playlist.

As a token of appreciation, Sandejas shared his cover of a song that V made for a K-drama titled “Our Beloved Summer,” and wrote words of gratitude on social media.

Thank you V for sharing my music with the world, and thank you ARMY for the love and support you guys shared with me. This one's for you guys 🙂 I'll forever be honored and grateful for everything you guys have done for me.

Recently, Paolo Sandejas released “BORED? (hope you’re happy),” a vibrant and uplifting musical reminder that you deserve to have someone amazing in your life — and not someone who only reaches out when they’re bored.

Another OPM act, Young Cocoa, has made a great impression on BTS’ leader, rapper, singer-songwriter RM, who has included Young Cocoa’s hit song “Manila,” in one of his online playlists. “Manila” is a chill, contemporary hip-hop track that serves as Young Cocoa’s love letter to the Philippines’ capital.

Young Cocoa, who was born in the Philippines and was raised in Indonesia, also dropped his latest track, “JTOWN (PM),” last month. The song serves as the hip-hop artist’s tribute to his hometown, Jakarta, Indonesia.
