In a Pandemic-Stricken World, LG PuriCare™ Wearable Air Purifier Makes Breathing Easier

The air we breathe can be the very vessel of pathogens that can jeopardize our health. This is one of the biggest ironies that the Covid-19 pandemic has emphasized.

Over a year, nearly three million deaths worldwide, and a couple of new virus strains after, the ongoing health crisis continues to wreak havoc in our everyday lives. And as we navigate life in the new normal, guarding ourselves against the infectious disease is highly critical.

In the Philippines, the total number of Covid-19 cases has already reached 741,000 as of March 30, 2021. Of this number, a total of 13,191 deaths have been tallied. Earlier on March 29, the country logged its highest single-day cases to date: 10,016.

Mask up, breathe easily

Because Covid-19 is primarily transmitted through respiratory droplets, our health can be compromised if we don’t wear appropriate protection.

LG Electronics’ PuriCare™ — one of the newest offerings of the technology giant — is not your ordinary face mask. It is a cleverly designed wearable air purifier that can effectively block 99.95% of harmful particles for cleaner and fresher air.

The product was made available in the Philippines in late March 2021.

In a feature on UNTV’s morning show Good Morning Kuya, Jave Enriquez, a product manager at LG Electronics Philippines, explained that while the wearable air purifier utilizes innovative technologies, it is simple to use.

“It can be used like a conventional mask. However, it is loaded with features that can greatly help its wearer and protect his or her health,” he shared.

The product is made from medical-grade silicone and uses two H13 High-efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. These filters are akin to what the company employs in its premium home air purifiers. It is also packed with Dual Fans and a patented Respiratory Sensor to facilitate easier breathing — the airflow levels can be adjusted depending on your activity.

The LG PuriCare™ Wearable Air Purifier prioritizes safety without compromising comfort. With its ergonomic design (complete with adjustable ear straps and neckband), it can easily fit into your face while reducing air leakage around vulnerable spots such as the nose and the chin. Lightweight, stylish, and ultra-quiet, the product is powered by an 820mAh battery that can provide around two to eight hours of top-notch air purification.

As an added convenience, this personal clean air solution can also be bought together with a UV LED light-equipped case that can double as a disinfectant and a charger. The case, when connected to a smartphone, can also send an alert once it’s already time to replace the air purifier’s filters.

Smart clean air solutions

A crisis as unprecedented as the Covid-19 calls for a high level of innovation.

As a leading name in clean air solutions, LG remains at the forefront of developing technologies that can help consumers live more safely — a commitment that only intensified now that we’re living in a pandemic-stricken world.

In a press release, Dan Song, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, described the LG PuriCare™ Wearable Air Purifier “as an exciting addition to [its] growing lineup of products designed to deliver meaningful health and hygiene benefits.”

“At a time when consumers are seeking ways to make life safer and more convenient, it’s important that we’re able to offer solutions that add measurable value,” he further remarked.

In the country, the LG PuriCare™ Wearable Air Purifier is available for purchase at Php8,699. It comes with a charging cable, one set of filters, 10 pieces of inner covers, and a one-year warranty. Meanwhile, the UV Nano case is priced at Php 6,999. You can buy it at LG Philippines’ official store on Lazada, Shopee, or at their branch near you. Prices may vary by store and online.
