OPM band Lola Amour welcomed 2025 with their first-ever international collaboration, featuring Australian artist Oliver Cronin. The release of their song, “Maria,” marked the “Raining In Manila” act’s first of many global musical team-ups to come.
Released under Warner Music Australia on January 30, “Maria,” revolves around the story of Lola Amour’s lead singer Pio and Oliver, sharing their affection over the titular girl, “Maria,” not knowing of the betrayal that she holds.
Oh Maria, what should I do today
There’s something I need you to say
Now I understand, now I understand
Said there’s no one else for you but me
But I'm not alone apparently
Don't hold my hand
In a press release, Cronin shared that working with the Lola Amour boys was an incredible experience. “Their seven-piece dynamic brought something fresh and magical to ‘Maria,’ creating a perfect blend of our worlds,” he said.
“Maria” is part of the Australian singer-songwriter’s latest EP, “Edge of Paradise.”
Recalling the inception of “Maria,” Pio shared on Instagram that the track was written at a music camp in Malaysia in August last year. The band and Oliver instantly vibed as soon as they’d met.
In a recent Roadshow Interview, the group also recalled their surreal moment of performing at a Coldplay concert. This special moment in their music career significantly shaped their musical experiences and expanded their listenership.
