Make Way for the Next OPM Stars, Wishcovery’s Wishful 5

Even before the grand champion of Wish 107.5’s Wishcovery is revealed on March 27, all five grand finalists of the online singing competition are already considered big winners.

The Wishful 5 -- made up of Carmela Ariola, Kimberly Baluzo, Hacel Bartolome, Louie Anne Culala, and Princess Sevillena -- are all poised to sign recording contracts with one of the biggest record labels in the country, Star Music.

This is apart from the tax-free cash prize courtesy of Wish 107.5.

The grand winner will take home Php 1 million worth of cash prize, another Php 1 million worth of contract, a house and lot, and a brand-new car.

The 1st runner-up will win Php 500,000 worth of cash, plus contract, while the 2nd runner-up will receive Php 300,000 worth of cash, plus contract.

Meanwhile, both the 3rd and 4th runners-up will secure Php 100,000 worth of cash, plus contract.

The Final Battle

While it’s no doubt that the Wishful 5 are all set to receive exciting prizes, the final vocal battle to win the championship tilt is expected to be fierce and tight.

For the grand finals, the Wishfuls will compete in four categories. The first of which is their final performance on board the Wish 107.5 Bus, to be uploaded on the radio station’s FM YouTube channel on March 16 (9 PM PHT) for a ten-day powerviewing.

The accumulated views of a Wishful’s video by March 26 (12 NN PHT) will comprise 15 percent of her total score. Another 15 percent will be allotted for the cumulative scores given by Wishcovery’s resident reactors -- R&B King Jay R, The Company’s Annie Quintos, and hitmaker Jungee Marcelo -- on the Wish Bus performance.

On the grand finals night itself, the five grand finalists will showcase their singing prowess through the three remaining categories. These will include a solo performance and a collaboration among the finalists to be judged by the resident reactors, plus a special solo performance to be scored by guest foreign reactors.

All these components will comprise the remaining 70 percent of a Wishful’s total score.

Making success more meaningful

Besides Wish 107.5’s groundbreaking initiatives, the radio station also highlights the importance of paying it forward.

For the grand finals, each of the Wishful 5 has selected their own beneficiary that will receive Php 100,000 worth of cash donation.

However, apart from the said charitable institutions, the Wishfuls have also held their respective public service activities in their own hometown weeks before the grand finals night.

Wishcovery’s grand finals night is slated on March 27, 7 PM PHT, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
