Marion Aunor Goes 'Unbound' for Music

Lilac-haired and overflowing with cheerful vibes, the talented Marion Aunor visited the Wish 107.5 Bus for the third time last June 30 to promote her self-titled album’s latest single, “Unbound.”

“Unbound” is a collaboration with Alex Gonzaga and Morissette, whom she praised for sharing her own goal of promoting original Filipino music.

An EDM track, the song’s melody is far from the usual chill and soothing compositions by Marion such as “Pumapag-ibig” and “Free Fall Into Love.”

In previous interviews, she shared that the danceable hit comes from “[her] desire to forge [her] own image and to discover [her] own voice.”

“Unbound is a statement. It is a statement of my music and what I stand for and that I will continue working hard to reach my goals,” she added.

Marion first embraced the OPM limelight when she won third place in the 2013 edition of Himig Handog songwriting composition. Her original, “Do, Do, Do” also made it to the grand finals of the second Philippine Popular Music Festival.

While riding the Wish 107.5 Bus, she also gamely took on Jelly Kiss’ “Tell Me” challenge where she quipped the first answer that comes to mind whenever song titles were mentioned:

Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath my Wings: My mom. I dedicate this song to her because she’s just always there for me.

Justin Bieber’s Sorry: I really don’t know. Maybe to anyone listening whom I should say sorry to.

Regine Velasquez’s Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang: Childhood. The good old days.

Stacy Lattisaw and Johnny Gill’s Perfect Combination: Perhaps, me and my music.

This blog post has completely changed my perspective on music. It's a must-read for any music lover.
