British-Canadian singer Matt Maltese announces Asia Tour including Manila

International singer-songwriter Matt Maltese is finally having his Manila stop to give his Filipino fans a night to remember as part of his Asia tour in promoting his latest album, “Driving Just to Drive.”

The upcoming concert will be Matt’s first time visiting the country and he can’t wait to meet his Filipino fans in person.

“I can’t wait to meet my Filipino fans and thank you for listening. It’s always so ridiculous when people so far away listen to my music and I hope the show I put on satisfies everybody, which is such a formal word, but I can’t wait to be there,” granted Matt.

The ‘Florence’ singer shared that he has always been thrilled whenever he comes to a place he hasn’t been to play his music.

“It’s quite a special thing for me to go somewhere I’ve never been before and play a show to people who in some cases have been waiting a little while and the energy of that in the room is always a special thing. And as always, I’m very much looking forward to the food,” explained the

In an interview, the British-Canadian artist also expressed that he found inspiration in creating his works from people who have a light but serious attitude toward their life and work.

“My inspirations vary. I’m very inspired by people who have a light but serious attitude toward their life and work. I think that it’s always people that I’m inspired by as well as the music they make,” he stated.

“When I was growing up it was definitely a case that I’d watch a TV show like Flowers or watch an interview like Leonard Cohen and find it inspiring that people who made stuff could be like that. I find that people in my life are just inspiring and they’re a huge part of it all and I would have nothing to write about if it wasn’t for the great people who are sometimes still there or aren’t anymore. It’s just people,” he continued.

On the other hand, when asked what fans should look forward to in his career, the singer revealed that more albums and tours are coming in the future.

“I’d really love to continue writing for other people and I’ve always wanted to write music for a film. I’ve had a few other side projects that I’d like to finally get going. It’s hard to say really, you never know…what to expect from life. It’s very interlinked, life and what I end up making. But hopefully, more things that I like and that people like,” explained Matt.
