Mitoy Yonting's Epic Ride on Wish 107.5 Bus

Mitoy Yonting, the first grand champion of The Voice Philippines, toured the metro streets via Wish 1075 Bus and delivered an epic OPM Roadshow musical experience to his fans and listeners.

Mitoy’s voice, which captured the keen ear of then vocal coach and Broadway star Lea Salonga, wowed spectators and passers-by as he rendered powerful performances of contemporary OPM hits such as “Habol-habol,” “Minamahal Kita,” and “Pangakong Tapat.”

The singing champ also gave an exceptional rendition of the Florante classic, “Handog.”

The songs are part of his album, “Hanggang Wakas,” released in July 2014.

The album features 12 songs including originals and covers. It includes “Pinaikot-ikot” and a duet of “Somewhere” with Lea Salonga. It is available at leading record stores nationwide, can also be downloaded online via spinnr.ph and iTunes, and streamed via Deezer and Spotify.

Mitoy was discovered back in 1990s when he won the singing competition “Ikaw at Echo” of the noontime variety show, Eat Bulaga. His voice was then often compared to Air Supply’s Russel Hitchock’s.

In 2013, he was invited to join the first season of the Philippine franchise of The Voice. After he emerged victorious, his singing career continued to boom. He has also dabbled into acting as he became part of a sitcom in January 2014.

This blog post has completely changed my perspective on music. It's a must-read for any music lover.
