Morissette: ‘Morissette is Made’ Dubai is a Gift to My Fans

Asia’s Phoenix Morissette has nothing but gratitude for her loyal league of fans called “Mowienatics” after receiving immense support for “Morissette is Made” -- her debut major solo tour. For the award-winning belter, each leg of the concert series is a unique and memorable experience of sharing her musical talent with the audience.

Coming from a successful concert in her hometown Cebu last month, she is all-set to bring the show to Dubai on August 17, Friday, as a “gift” to her supporters in the area.

But before her vocal bravado soars high at the Dubai World Trade Center, Morissette lends her time for a Wishclusive interview about returning to the city for her first headlining tour, the acts she’ll be bringing along, and more.

You’ve performed in Dubai before, how does it feel like to return here and finally be able to headline your own concert?

“I’m very excited! For the past occasions I got to perform for our kabayans there, I’ve always had a great time. They're very lively and always so supportive. I'm beyond grateful the team is bringing 'Made' to Dubai, and I'm looking forward to sharing the experience with OFWs and friends in the Middle East.”

What can the Dubai crowd expect from the “Morissette is Made” concert?

‍

“What I always tell my audiences is ‘Nothing beats the LIVE experience!’ Since we've already done 'Made' in Araneta and Cebu, most of my production numbers are already out on the web... But I like to emphasize that it's a totally different feeling getting to actually be 'there.' Our Dubai crowd can expect 100% or more all-out performances as we always do. Plus, the collaborations with the different guests are always something to look forward to.”

What’s the difference between “Morissette is Made” Araneta Coliseum, Cebu, and Dubai?

“Each leg has really become incredibly special and personal to me. Although we are bringing the same set of songs with a few tweaks in the lineup each time, it's always a difference experience because our audiences give different reactions, and I guess that's what makes it exciting all the time. I am blessed and thankful that all my legs have so far been greatly supported and highly anticipated. There’s pressure on our part but it pushes me and my team to always give our best for all our concerts.”

You will be having Sam Concepcion as a guest artist, what kind of collaborations can the audience expect from the two of you?

‍

“One of the things I admire about Sam as a performer is how talented he is and how he always knows how to have fun on stage. The collaboration we'll be doing for the concert is definitely going to be fun and hopefully something our audience can dance and jam along to!”

The Wishful 5 -- composed of rising divas Princess Sevillena, Kimberly Baluzo, Louie Anne Culala, Carmel Ariola, and Ace Bartolome -- will serve as the front act of this leg. What’s your message to them?

“I am glad to be having them along on this leg. I know the future is bright for each one of the Wishful 5 and I am humbled to have been able to share the stage with at their successful album concert, my many thanks to them. I know they will blow our Dubai audience away!”

Your Wishclusive performance of Little Mix’s “Secret Love Song” is the most viewed Wish Bus cover, so far, and many of its viewers came from Dubai. What can you say about the avid support you’ve been receiving from our Dubai Wishers?

“I cannot thank our Dubai Wishers enough, but I am proud that this is going to be our very first leg/franchise of 'Made' outside the Philippines! Also after being noticed by Little Mix with my performance of the same song on another platform, it makes me all the more excited to be sharing and jamming it on our next 'Made' leg and I already know our audience there will make it just as special.”

Can you give a message to Mowienatics Dubai and to all those who support you in Middle East?

‍

“Mowienatics in Dubai, this is it! I am looking forward to coming back there and seeing you guys again. Thank you so much for the love and immense support despite being there, this is our gift back to you all!”
