Ogie Alcasid, Rey Valera, and Louie Ocampo to Share One Stage for ‘Songwriters Series’
Ogie Alcasid, Rey Valera, and Louie Ocampo — three of the OPM industry’s most esteemed composers — will be sharing one stage for their upcoming show, “Songwriters Series: Kanta Ko, Panahon N’yo,” at the Kia Theatre on December 2.
The concert, with special guests Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez, will be a tribute to the three’s enduring music careers.
Alcasid, the man behind the ballads such as “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang,” “Ikaw Lamang” and “Kailangan Kita,” is currently the president of the Organisasyon ng Mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OP). Earlier in August, the hitmaker graced the Roadshow to promote his latest album, “Ikaw ang Buhay Ko.”
Valera, on the other hand, is known for his catalog of timeless originals including “Pangako Sa’yo,” “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako,” “Tayong Dalawa” and “Maging Sino Ka Man.” Before making a name as a recording artist, he first started out as a composer for the label Vicor Music. He has written songs for OPM icons like Rico J. Puno and Sharon Cuneta.
Meanwhile, Ocampo’s gift of music has produced the mega-hits “Tell Me,” “You are My Song” and “Ikaw,” among many others. Commencing his journey in the industry as a songwriter, he later dabbled into musical arranging and directing.
Apart from a grand production number featuring the three OPM pillars singing their own songs, they will also give their renditions of each other’s biggest hits.
“Songwriters Series: Kanta Ko, Panahon N’yo” is presented by Viva Live.
