OPM Hitmakers Nonoy Zuñiga, Marco Sison Share Newest Music Offerings Aboard the Wish Bus

Amidst the heaps of new tracks and live shows offered by artists of today’s generation, it’s wonderful news whenever we learn music veterans are still brewing something for the old souls to enjoy and for the youngsters to try indulging in.

This month of July, not only one, but two respected OPM figures hopped for the first time on the Wish 107.5 Bus to share with Wishers their latest projects.

On July 2, renowned romantic balladeer Marco Sison rendered his newest single titled “Buhay Ko’y Sayo.”

A self-penned original, the song is reminiscent of mid-tempo love songs from the 80’s -- the same decade when Sison established his name as an esteemed singer with hits including “My Love Will See You Through” and “Make Believe.”

“I just wanted to sing something new so I wrote this song,” he said, also sharing his excitement for finally being able to perform it on the “Pambansang Wish Bus.”

“I am so excited I’m here -- I’m happy to be here! I thought you were only inviting the new ones. But when I did my research, I saw you’ve already invited Martin Nievera, Gary V. and Hajji Alejandro. Knowing that, I’ve mustered the courage to perform here,” he said in jest.

Marco Sison delivers a Wishclusive performance of “Buhay Ko’y Sa’yo” and “My Love Will See You Through.”

The 61-year-old artist last dropped an album in 2012. The record “Isang Pagkakataon” included “Sabik Na Puso,” his debut track as a songwriter.

Besides performing his latest OPM tune, he also showcased his suave vibrato and silky vocals with his rendition of “My Love Will See You Through.”

Just over a week a later, Nonoy Zuñiga, one of the most prominent acts from the '70s and '80s, also graced the FM studio-on-wheels.

The “Doon Lang” singer promoted his concert at The Theatre at Solaire with acclaimed impersonator and comedian, Willie Nepumoceno. The two co-headlined “Music and Laughter" on July 27, Friday.

Fourteen-year-old singer Jolianne Salvador and Nonoy Zuñiga share the spotlight with a duet of the Visayan hit, “Pero Atik Ra.”

During his Roadshow guesting, he lent his distinctive voice to deliver his songs, “Kamusta Ka” and “Araw Gabi.”

He also brought along Cebuana singer Jolianne Salvador as they performed the 2016 Visayan smash, “Pero Atik Ra.” Their take on the original by artist Jacky Chang was a hit for the listeners from the region. Their Wish Bus performance marked the first time that they sang the tune in Manila.

Zuñiga and Sison, alongside Rey Valera, Hajji Alejandro and Rico Puno, tour as the group The Hitmakers.

This blog post has completely changed my perspective on music. It's a must-read for any music lover.
