Esteemed OPM band Orange & Lemons held their 25th-anniversary concert at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig City on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Aptly titled “Now & Then,” the three-hour concert showcased their hits songs and more from four seminal albums. These include tracks from their debut record, “Love in the Land of Rubber Shoes and Dirty Ice Cream,” the electrifying “Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot,” the psychedelic “Moonlane Gardens,” and the vibrant “La Bulaqueña.”

The band considers their concert a “special gift” to their fans. True enough, the night was all about the songs that defined their career — and the stories that made each album even more profound.

In an interview on the Wish Bus-hosted program The Roadshow, the pop-rock ensemble commented on the timelessness of their songs.

“Ako, personally, it’s the sound. There’s a certain sound of the Orange & Lemons. And maybe composition-wise and how every band member gels during the process of recording and songwriting,” singer-songwriter Clem Castro explained.

When asked about staying relevant in the ever-changing music scene, Castro noted that it’s all about “balancing what we do best and trying to keep up with the times.”

“We have to reinvent ourselves each time. For this next album that we’re planning, we will be totally different from La Bulaqueña. We like to do concept albums kasi,” he added.

Orange & Lemons is the band behind “Heaven Knows (This Angel Has Flown),” “Hanggang Kailan,” and “Just Like A Splendid Love Song,” among others. The group is composed of Castro, JM del Mundo (bass), Ace del Mundo (drums), and Jared Nerona (keyboards).
