RJ Jimenez, Jem Cubil Delight Wishers with Romantic Back-to-Back Performances
February just got more romantic as two acoustic heartthrobs — former Pinoy Dream Academy scholar RJ Jimenez and The Voice alum Jem Cubil — boarded the Wish 107.5 Bus last February 14, Tuesday, and serenaded listeners with back-to-back WISHclusive performances.
Opening the set was Jem who spread kilig vibes with his renditions of Ronnie Liang’s “Ngiti,” Ed Sheeran’s comeback hit “Shape of You,” Michael Buble’s classic tune “Home,” and the “Once” soundtrack, “Falling Slowly.”
On a sweet note, when DJ Faye (who was pinch-hitting for DJ Robin) asked him about how does a Jem Cubil fall in love, he smoothly answered: “If I’m in love with a certain girl, she will basically be my world.”
Carrying on the lovely atmosphere, RJ brought nostalgia with his performances of his hit collab with Yeng Constantino, “If We Fall In Love,” and his original smash, “Miss Kita ‘Pag Tuesday.”
The acoustic star also covered The Script’s “Breakeven” and rendered another original, “I Song.”
Sharing his thoughts about love, he revealed that when he was still a bachelor, he was actually the shy kind of guy when it comes to courting. But as a musician, he said he usually write songs for the girl he likes.
As a staunch advocate of OPM, RJ shared he is also managing up-and-coming artists and is eyeing to complete a new independent recording label. Another good news, he said he’s “preparing to release new singles on Spotify and iTunes.”
The Wish 107.5 Bus was parked in front of SM City Fairview during the said Roadshow episode.
