Six Part Invention Shares 'Stripped and Covered' on The Roadshow

The OPM band, Six Part Invention, joined Wish jock Jelly Kiss on The Roadshow on December 23 to promote their newest single “Kung Hindi Ngayon, Kailan Pa?” and latest album called “Stripped and Covered”.

Famous for their hit songs featured in television commercials and soap operas such as “Only For You”, “Umaasa Lang Sa’yo”, and “Sana’y Ako Na Lang”, Six Part Invention had already built up its reputation in the original Filipino music scene since the successful release of their self-titled debut album in 2006.

Real life love birds and band mates Kaye and Rey Cantong chatted with Wish jock Jelly Kiss about the recent happenings and whatnots of the band. Rey, the lead guitarist, talked about their latest album which was appropriately named “Stripped and Covered” since it is composed of all cover songs.

“Lahat ng mga songs dito are formerly power rock ballads, from the mid-80s to late-90s at ito yung pinaka-favorite kong genre.”

(All songs from the album are formerly power rock ballads, from the mid-80s to late 90s and this is my most favorite genre.)

This concept album of Six Part Invention is not a surprise to fans because in 2010, the band has also released a unique of album called “Songs of D-votion” which consisted of songs that are in the key or related to the key of D.

With these exceptional concepts and clever mix of pop, rock, and ballad, Six Part Invention sure has a long and promising journey ahead of them.

Promoting their newest single titled “Kung Hindi Ngayon, Kailan Pa?” Kaye, the band’s lead vocalist, asked Wishers to continually support the band’s career in the OPM industry. When asked about their Wish 107.5 Bus experience, Rey simply blurted out, “Wow! As in wow!” He was particularly awed by the e-drums and the other high-end equipment of the one and only FM radio station on wheels in the Philippines.

The other members of the band are Tag Cantong on drums and percussion, and Andy Dela Cruz on bass.

This blog post has completely changed my perspective on music. It's a must-read for any music lover.
