Stephen Speaks, Nina, Juris, and Rangel Deliver Hits and More in ‘Falling’ Concert

The sixth installment of the Wish Date concert series will be streamed on the KDR Music House YouTube channel on February 19.

Entwining poetry with memorable musical performances, KDR Music House’s latest concert titled “Falling” portrayed the different experiences that come with falling in love. The event was held on February 12, 2023, Sunday, at The Theatre at Solaire.

One of the show’s highlights was the performance of Stephen Speaks vocalist Rockwell Ryan Ripperger. He brought his band’s biggest hits to the stage — “Out of My League” and “Passenger Seat” — and prompted a heartwarming sing-along from the crowd.

He also gave his own spin to The Eagles’ “Desperado,” Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars,” and Plain White T’s’ “Hey There Delilah.”

Since the first Wish Date concert, which was held in March last year, it was the first time that the series had an international act serenade its audience.

Acoustic Pop Queen Juris, Soul Siren Nina, and promising pop singer and Music Hero vocalist Rangel, also delivered their own numbers.

Juris sang her iconic renditions of OPM classics such as “Forevermore,” “A Love to Last a Lifetime, “Your Love,” and “Kahit Isang Saglit.” She also performed “Di Lang Ikaw,” a heart-wrenching ballad she co-penned with Ice Seguerra.

Meanwhile, Nina earned the crowd’s cheers and applause with her nostalgia-inducing all-hits set featuring “Love Moves in Mysterious Ways,” “Someday,” “Jealous,” “I Love You Goodbye,” and “Piano in the Dark.”

Rangel gave the night a contemporary edge as she dished out Music Hero’s “KLWKN,” her solo single “Dika,” and her own renditions of global hits such as “Flowers” and “All I Ask.”

All four acts — together with a chorale — aptly closed out the show with “I’m Yours.” The Jason Mraz original embraces the idea of making the most of each passing moment and giving it your all for someone you’ve fallen in love with.

Watch the Wish Date concert “Falling” from the comfort of your home as it streams on the KDR Music House YouTube channel on February 19, 2023, Sunday at 8 p.m.
