Taylor Swift’s Hit Track ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version)’ is Now a University Course

Dr. Swift is painting Stanford Red.

California’s prestigious Stanford University launches “All Too Well (10 Week Version),” an introductory course that explores Taylor Swift’s ten-minute hit song through the university’s student-led ITALIC 99 program.

The heartbreak song “All Too Well” is part of Swift’s fourth studio album, “Red.” The track was released on October 22, 2012, and was written by Swift and songwriter Liz Rose. In 2021, Swift re-recorded the song, which is now titled “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” on YouTube, with additional lines and a longer runtime.

According to Stanford, the 10-week course promises an “in-depth analysis” of the ten-minute track for both certified Swifties and literary enthusiasts alike. The classes will run for 50 minutes and will be led by Stanford alum Nona Hungate at Stanford’s Burbank Lecture Theater.

Stanford University is not the first academic institution to offer a course that delves into Taylor Swift’s music. Other universities, including New York University’s Clive Davis Institute have also offered a course about Swift’s music. Last year, the University of Texas at Austin offered a class called “The Taylor Swift Songbook” that pondered upon Swift’s songwriting and cultural impact.

“All Too Well” wins awards

Taylor Swift is one of the most successful artists of all time, and her music has become a source of inspiration to many people around the world. In fact, according to the Recording Academy, Swift “is the first and only woman solo artist to win the GRAMMY for Album Of The Year thrice for her solo recordings.

Since the release of “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version),” the song has received numerous recognitions and is considered one of Swift’s best works. The track has won several accolades, including the Best Longform Video and Video of the Year awards at the 2022 MTV VMAs and the Song of the Year, Best Pop Song, and Record of the Year awards at the Gold Derby Music Award. It was also hailed as the Guinness World Records’ “Longest Song to Reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.”

Currently, Taylor has kicked off her highly anticipated “The Eras Tour” and is set to serenade the rest of the US until August this year. Swifties around the globe can check international tour updates on Swift’s official website.
