Three Hip-Hop Wishclusives Made YouTube PH’s Top Music Videos List for 2019

O.C. Dawgs’ “Pauwi Nako,” Allmo$t’s “Dalaga,” and Pricetagg’s “Kontrabida” featuring CLR placed high on YouTube Philippines’ most-viewed music videos this year.

On December 14, popular video streaming platform YouTube released its year-end round-up — YouTube Rewind — which aims to “celebrate the creators, music and moments that mattered most” to its audience. According to YouTube, the list was generated by ranking the most liked official music videos uploaded in 2019.

In the Philippines, three of Wish 107.5’s music video releases have made it to the roster of top trending music videos for 2019. The boppy and relatable “Pauwi Nako” Wishclusive of hip-hop troupe O.C. Dawgs ranked third, while BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” and the viral lyric video of “Zebbiana” by Skusta Clee ranked second and first, respectively.

This O.C. Dawgs video, which dominated streaming platforms and currently holds the record of being the fastest Wishclusive to hit 10 million YouTube views in no less than two weeks, has been repeatedly streamed by Wishers over 66 million times as of writing time.

Following “Pauwi Nako” on the list is another hip-hop-with-a-dash-of-R&B hit from a fast-emerging act. Now with 41 million views on YouTube, the Wishclusive performance of “Dalaga” by Allmo$t first landed on the YouTube PH trends list before it made rounds on the digital space through the Dalagang Pilipina challenge.

On the sixth spot is Pricetagg’s Wishclusive rendition of the fiery track off his “Barcode” album “Kontrabida” featuring CLR.

Released on March 8, this Wishclusive, which racked up over 61 million YouTube views as of writing, boasts of the match-made-in-heaven tandem of two of the hottest rap virtuosos today.

Hip-hop mania in the PH

Wishers dropped by the Bonifacio Shrine in Manila to witness the comeback Roadshow guesting of Pinoy hip-hop act Skusta Clee on board the Wish 107.5 Bus on December 11, 2019.

Words and wit, rhythm and rhyme. Rap music has effortlessly reached the Philippine shores and continues to ensnare the hearts of both the young and old. Observed to be the first country to establish a flourishing hip-hop scene in Asia, the beat-driven releases of local hip-hop artists have penetrated into the youth’s urban lifestyle, fashion, and sense of art — making it one of the most potent musical genres to grace today’s digital streaming platforms.

With the presence of the Wish 107.5 Bus, hip-hop artists, as well as those from across different genres can share their music with audiences across the globe. These HD-produced performance videos, “Wishclusives” — are made accessible to millions of viewers through the Wish 107.5 YouTube channel.

Support O.C. Dawgs’ “Pauwi Nako,” Allmo$t’s “Dalaga,” and Pricetagg’s “Kontrabida” featuring CLR on their 5th WMA nominations for Wishclusive Hip-Hop Performance of the Year.
