IN PHOTOS: Jack Johnson, Thundercat, and more take over Wanderland 2024
Music is a language of its own — and it connects people through shared emotions and stories. Embodying this very essence of music, Wanderland Music and Arts Festival has once again gathered a community of “good people” who crave nothing but “good music.”
Aptly dubbed the “Home of good music and good people,” the event took place at the Filinvest City Event Grounds from March 9 to 10, 2024.
While it was hard to top last year’s roster (read: Carly Rae Jepsen, Phoenix, Dashboard Confessional, and Rico Blanco, among others), Wanderland 2024’s lineup still features an impressive mix of international and local acts.
With the festival hosting many “firsts,” the two-day revelry has become even more memorable.
Jack Johnson, the American singer-songwriter behind “Good People,” “Better Together,” and “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing,” made his first-ever headline show for a Philippine Festival. He brought his hits — and even performed a new song with his fellow performer, Australian band Parcels — on Day 1 of Wanderland.
Meanwhile, Thundercat — a virtuoso bassist, singer, and another first-timer in the Philippines — topped the bill on Day 2.
The majority of the featured acts also made their Philippine debut on the Wanderland stage, including PJ Morton, Breakbot, The Walters, Beenzino, Jeff Bernat, Novo Amor, and Cosmo’s Midnight. HWASA of K-pop group MAMAMOO also held her first-ever PH festival solo performance. Bosudongcooler, another South Korean act, further graced the event.
The lineup of local acts for Wanderland 2024 is just as wide-ranging.
Lola Amour performed their hits, including the Wish Music Awards-nominated “Raining in Manila” and “Pwede Ba,” and gave a glimpse into the lush soundscapes of their upcoming record by performing new songs.
Gabba, Paolo Sandejas, ena mori, and dwta all brought their own unique brands of artistry to the stage, giving the crowd a taste of Filipino musicians’ diversity. Jose Miguel — known for his old-soul tunes — along with rock supergroup Party Pace, and homegrown indie band bird., completed the roster.
