Warner Music PH Celebrates Three Decades of Music With ‘We Play Here’ Concert Series

To celebrate Warner Music Philippines’ 30th anniversary and the unstoppable rise of OPM, the music label kick-started its “We Play Here” concert series at the Samsung Hall on April 27, 2023. Talented OPM acts FELIP, Dilaw, Lola Amour, Sugarcane, Leanne & Naara, JRLDM, and PLAYERTWO headlined the debut launch.

“Our We Play Here series showcases and celebrates everything that is so exciting about where this generation of Filipino artists is at right now. The acts are bigger, better, and more diverse than ever before, and our whole team is so proud of the role that Warner Music Philippines is playing in the global rise of OPM,” shared Sarah Ismail, Managing Director of Warner Music Philippines in a Bandwagon interview.

What went down at ‘We Play Here’

Six-piece folk-pop band Sugarcane started off the celebration with their soothing and heart-tugging performances of “Kung Maging Akin Ka,” “Paruparo,” and “Leonora.”

The crowd got excited when they saw hip-hop/R&B artist JRLDM onstage. The Wishclusive Collaboration of the Year awardee delivered his relatable originals, “Lagi Na Lang” (featuring Mhot), “Para Sa Sarili,” and “Bahala Na Bukas.”

Meanwhile, indie-pop duo Leanne & Naara graced the “We Play Here” concert stage with their chill-yet-impressive performances of “Unan,” “Again,” “Who’s Gonna Love You,” “Run Run,” and “Keeping Me Up.” They also sang “unreleased song,” which they dedicated to those who were “falling out of love.” The musical duo also celebrated their seven years of playing music together during the concert.

Dilaw, who’s currently making waves in the music scene, was one of the concert-goers’ favorite acts of the evening. Songwriter and vocalist Dilaw Obrero and his bandmates treated everyone to their LSS-inducing tracks: “Kaloy,” “Sansinukob,” “Maskara,” and “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat).” The band also did a collaborative performance of “Patiwakal” with JRLDM.

The boys of pop-rock band Lola Amour filled the entire hall with their undeniable charm and enthusiasm as they performed “Fallen,” “Pwede Ba,” “dahan-dahan,” and “Raining In Manila.” They also shared the stage with Dilaw Obrero for their song “Madali.”

Rising hip-hop group PLAYERTWO gave pumped-up live performances that upped everyone’s mood and made everyone sing their hearts out. For their setlist, the Davao-based group dished out their chart-topping tracks, “TIKTIKTOKIN,” THAT’S MY BABY,” and “HDYF.”

Showcasing “superiority” at its finest, FELIP capped off the concert on a high note with his feisty performances of “MICTEST,” “ROCKSTA,” “CRIMINAL,” and “DRINKSMOKE,” which are tracks from his debut EP, “COM•PLEX.” The Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year also rendered his two other singles “Bulan” and “Palayo.”
