Griff, Stell, and More: ‘We Play Here’ Kicks Off in UP Diliman

We Play Here, a series of music experiences mounted by Warner Music Philippines, returns this 2024.

Following its success last year, which coincided with the label’s 30th anniversary, the event is back bigger and better. One resounding proof is its official launch held on Friday, August 23, at the UP Diliman College of Science Amphitheater.

The sophomore edition of We Play Here will see the event take over various schools in the metro from this year until the next. On its kick-off, various Warner Music artists gathered to offer the audience an unforgettable live music experience.

British act Griff, Stell, and Dilaw headlined the event, bringing their hits, much to the delight of the crowd.

Griff treated fans to electrifying songs from her debut album, “vertigo,” which was released in July this year. Standout tracks include “Tears for Fun” and “Anything.” We Play Here marked her Philippine debut.

Meanwhile, Stell, who graced the 10th Wish anniversary special earlier this month, delivered tracks from his solo debut EP called “Room.” The EP includes the dance-inducing “Room” and the emotive ballads “Di Ko Masabi” and “Anino.”

Dilaw, the band that gave the smash hit “Uhaw Tayong Lahat,” also made a comeback on the We Play Here stage. This stint comes after their recent release, “Nilalang,” which is “a song that explores deep admiration and love for someone seen as incredibly beautiful and rare.”

Injecting more artistic flavors into the night were Paul Pablo and PLAYERTWO — who also bought FELIP, last year’s headliner, as a surprise guest. Sugarcane and Arthur Miguel, two talented acts from Warner, meanwhile brought Cup of Joe and jikamarie as guests. KDR Music House’s own talents, Letters from June and Kahel, completed the roster of performers.

Apart from the well-curated musical performances, the event also featured special interactive booths and installations, including Arthur Miguel’s “What if?” and “AM Hugots” wall, Dilaw’s “Nilalang” Portraits, and Griff’s Gachapon Machine, among others.

We Play Here is presented by Warner Music Philippines in partnership with KDR Music House and UP Adcore. Stay updated on the different We Play Here promos and announcements by following their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
