Wish 107.5 Grants Php2.3M at Ultimate Fandom Challenge Grand Finals

A total of Php 2.3 million pesos was granted to the winning fandoms of the Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge during the competition’s finals night on June 28 at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

The fandoms, who are known in the music industry as avid supporters of artists, united this time for charity, sharing their cash prizes with their chosen beneficiaries.

After taking the top spot of the friendly battle, Jason Dy’s Dyfenders bagged a total of Php 1 million. The fandom’s chosen beneficiary is the Kythe Foundation, Inc.

Meanwhile, Darren Espanto, the Darrenatics and the World Vision were able to secure half a million pesos after winning second place.
Coming behind were the Juanistas (The Juans), receiving Php 300,000; Mowienatics (Morissette), Php 200,000; Darylnatics (Daryl Ong), Php 150,000; JKUFC (JK Labajo), Php 100,000, and Francisnatics (Francis Lim), Php 50,000.

These fandoms’ beneficiaries included Real Life Foundation, Inc., Marixtell Children’s Foundation, Inc., Blessed Ville Special School Foundation, Inc., Lingap Voluntourism PH, Inc., and Philippine Cerebral Palsy, Inc.

The culminating program of the two-month fandom competition rocked the Big Dome as the fandoms and their artists staged stellar performances showcasing their talent and teamwork.

The challenge, which kicked off in April, included various kinds of battles such as extreme adventure race, online voting, Twitter trending, and music video shooting and viewing.

The event primarily aims to empower the fandoms by putting them on the limelight and paying homage to their sacrifices and hardwork.

Earning nod from artists

Meanwhile, OPM artists of the Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge top contenders recognized the FM radio station for pulling off an event that served as a venue for artists to give back to their loyal supporters.

“I’m happy to see [my fans] happy, it’s their time to shine and I’ll support them the way they’ve shown their support to me,” power belter Morissette enthused during the grand finals night held on June 28 at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

“Thank you so much for this opportunity to perform together with Mowienatics. I’m excited for more opportunities like this,” she added.

During the event, the artists got the chance to collaborate with their fandoms as part of the final round of the two-month competition.

“The best moment [of the contest] was when I performed with my fans. Throughout this competition, it’s pleasantly surprising that my fans are great singers and dancers and I’m glad to know it, it’s our first time to perform together,” RnB star said.

The Dyfenders emerged victorious during the grand finals staged at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum on June 28, winning Php 1 million for the group, their artist and chosen charitable institution.

For the other artists, the grand finals marked as their debut performance at the Big Dome, making the event very memorable for them.

“Thank you so much, Wish 107.5, for giving us the opportunity to perform in Araneta and for letting my fandom show how strong we are,” young charmer Francis Lim remarked.

Rising OPM band The Juans shared the same sentiment, “We want to thank Wish for organizing this wonderful event. Thank you for bringing us to Araneta for the very first time. We’re looking forward to doing more things with you.”

Meanwhile, total performer Darren Espanto also pointed how the event has helped him win more people to join his fandom.

“Through this challenge, we got to know each other more, and we grew bigger because new Darrenatics joined the team,” he said.

For Juan Karlos Labajo, his fandom JK United Families Club became more solid “because teamwork is very essential in this challenge.”

The artists also agreed that the fandom challenge was instrumental in getting them more bonded with their supporters.

“[The event] has become an effective way to communicate with the Darylnatics. I have all the more realized that many people love and support me,” RnB heartthrob Daryl Ong stated.
