Wish 107.5, Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit Launch OPM Spotlight

Wish 107.5, in partnership with the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), launches “OPM Spotlight,” a special segment of the program Roadshow that aims to rekindle the listening public’s love for Original Filipino Music.

“OPM Spotlight” airs every Friday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The joint project between the station and the OPM, will showcase the best of the country’s homegrown talents to breathe new life and interest into the local music industry.

Established in 1986, the OPM touts itself as the “leading and most respected organization of Filipino professional singers in the country.” Knowing that the country is brimming with world-class artists, the group has been relentless in its campaign of keeping the industry alive.

The group is helmed by its president, acclaimed singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, with seasoned all-around performer Mitch Valdes as the chairman of the board.

Wish 107.5 has offered the organization a full one-hour slot to feature its singers and their WISHclusive performances of OPM songs – from the classics to the freshest ones.

Meanwhile, the station, for its part, has also been initiating projects that would highlight Filipino musicality. One is the recently concluded Wish 107.5 Music Awards, which paid homage to the new generation of OPM talents and their artistry.

Earlier in February, it also unveiled the Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge as the station believes that behind every famous artist is a loyal group of avid supporters. The project aims to empower the fandoms – the modern-day moniker for fans club – to show their support and appreciation of the music of their favorite Filipino artists.
